Welcome to GhostLinkBT ("we", "our", "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our offline peer-to-peer chat application, GhostLinkBT (the "App").

This App is designed to work entirely offline, without connecting to the internet. All communication happens directly between nearby devices.

2. Information We Collect

Because this App is fully offline, we do not collect or store your personal information on any servers. The information handled by the App is managed locally on your device and shared directly with other users you connect with.

• Username: The App asks you to provide a username. This name is broadcast to nearby devices to make you discoverable to other users for connection requests. This username is stored locally on your device.
• Chat Content: Chat messages, images, and voice notes that you send are transmitted directly to the other user's device. This content is encrypted (using AES-256 encryption) before transmission to protect it from being intercepted by unauthorized parties.

3. Device Permissions

To provide its core functionality, the App requires certain permissions on your device. These permissions are not used to collect data for us, but to enable the App's features.

• Bluetooth: Used to discover, advertise, and establish connections with nearby devices.
• Location (Fine Location on Android): On some operating systems, Bluetooth scanning for nearby devices requires Location permissions. We do not use this permission to track your geographic location.
• Nearby WiFi / Local Network: Used as another method to establish high-speed connections with nearby devices for faster communication.
• Record Audio: Required to allow you to send voice notes in your chats.
• Storage / Media Access: Required to allow you to send and receive images or other files.

4. How We Use and Share Your Information

Your information is used solely to enable the features of the App. Since the App is completely offline, your data is only "shared" with the users you choose to connect and chat with.

• Your username is shared with nearby devices for discovery.
• Your chat content is shared only with the peer you are directly connected to.
• We, the developers of GhostLinkBT, have no access to any of your data or chat content.

5. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously. All chat content is encrypted before it is transmitted between devices. Data is stored locally on your device and the devices of the people you chat with. You are in control of your data, and you can clear the App's data at any time through your device settings.

6. Third-Party Services

The App is built using Flutter and may include other third-party open-source libraries. These libraries are used for the App's functionality and do not transmit any of your personal data to us or any other third party.

7. Children's Privacy

This App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App or on our website. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
